A trip across Thailand's longest concrete bridge to Ko Yo to spend a day exploring the Folklore Museum at the Institute for Southern Thai Studies is a must for visitors to Songkhla. The museum has wonderful collections which provide a superb insight into the culture and folk ways of the region. It also has examples of southern Thai architecture and art, as well as some very interesting gardens. The National Museum in Songkhla Town has eclectic collections of prehistoric and ancient ceramics and crafts, as well as some natural history exhibits. It is housed in a restored mansion originally built around 1870. The zoo on the Songkhla-Chana Road is fun for both adults and children.
