Buffalo fightingAside from the hard days on the beach, both mainland Surat Thani and offshore on famous Samui Island there are varied attractions for your rest and refreshment. Set in a tranquil atmosphere and scenic settings, several sites including swamp, and islets are well suited for family picnics. For wildlife study, you can enter some of the huge zoos and sanctuaries in the province. Another pleasurable activity is to watch the monkey shows at the famous monkey training schools. You can also have enjoyable shopping at the art village for one of the most famous silk styles in Thailand, and admiration of Surat Thani's traditional arts and crafts.

Surat Thani has a special dish of oysters for all food lovers at the oyster farm offshore from the mainland. Once you taste it, you will realize that there are no other places like it. On the coconut island, Samui has wide-ranging attractions of recreation for your pleasure. Butterfly Park, Bee House, Insect Museum, snake farm and aquarium are to be found. Daily shows of monkeys and elephants are organized at the monkey school and snake farm. You can also enjoy the unique buffalo fighting, one of the traditional sports in the South. Some fishing villages are to be found for observation of Samui's culture and your satisfaction when dining on the superb seafood.
